1967-70 Steering Box, Linkage, Column, Tie Rods
1964-1973 Mustang Bump Steer Kit # ADJ-43
Global West Suspension manufactures a bump steer kit for Mustangs 1964 through 1973. This kit will work on manual steering 1964, 1965, and 1966 Mustangs. The kit contains: 2 outer high misalignment rod ends, spacers/shims, drill bit, adjusting sleeves, bolts, nuts, and instructions about fixing bump steer. This kit will not fit 1964-66 Mustangs with factory power steering. What is Bump Steer? Bump steer is a condition that happens when the suspension path (in this case of the upper and lower control arms) does not match the steering arch between the inner and outer tie rods. The tire will turn slightly (toe change) as the suspension moves through it's travel, which results in wander. All production cars have some small amount of bump steer. Raising or lowering the car can place the suspension out of the intended toe curve and create bump. The older cars (such as Mustangs) have shock towers that can be anywhere with regards to the upper arm location. It is possible that the tower could be out far enough to affect the steering geometry. This bump steer kit can correct the steering angle for matching the suspension movement.
